Bennett lived in Holland, Michigan for most of his life and moved to Chillicothe in 2024.
Why did you choose Ohio University Chillicothe?
I have family who live in Chillicothe, so it's an opportunity to spend time with them. Also, ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½Chillicothe's affordable tuition costs. My intention is to stay at ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½Chillicothe as long as I can, then relocate to the Athens campus to finish psychology and economics classes.
What accomplishments are you most proud of from the past year?
Over the last 12 months, I've put in a great deal of effort through diet and exercise to lose 60 pounds and go from being obese to being in a healthy weight range, with a little muscle to boot. I've also had to establish a completely new social network in Ohio, which has also taken a lot of effort but been completely rewarding. I'm so thankful to be here!
How are you spending your summer?
Since April, I've driven more than 10,000 miles to build relationships with family and friends and see more of America. I took a road trip from Ohio down to Florida, then to Arkansas, and back to Ohio. I have visited family in Michigan, Indiana, and Illinois, not to mention just checking out the cool sights Ohio itself has to offer. I recently went to Hocking Hills, Ohio, and saw some beautiful trails and nature in the area. I have loved checking out new coffee shops, going hiking on trails (by the way, why are Ohio trails always wet?!), meeting new people, and visiting the Ohio BMV (oh, sorry, I'm looking at the wrong list).
What are you most looking forward to this fall?
I love learning! And I also love people. For me, going back to school provides wonderful opportunities for both, and I'm so excited to meet new people, learn new things, and grow as a person. I'd love to connect!
What's your dream job?
I would love a teaching position that allows me the opportunity to travel the world. At a prior school, I had the opportunity to go on two different study abroad trips, and there were, naturally, professors that joined the students on those trips. I've never been able to get over those experiences and would love to travel the world more. I'm also interested in being a professor and working with psychology students, so a job that marries all of those passions would be a delight!

What accomplishments are you most proud of from the past year?
I'm proud of all my academic achievements as well as my athletic achievements.
How are you spending your summer?
I'm spending my summer by the beach and the pool with all my family and friends while soaking up the sun!

What accomplishments are you most proud of from the past year?
I'm proud of staying focused on my schoolwork and improving my skills through hard work and dedication. As a College Credit Plus student during high school, I worked hard and have already earned my associate degree in general studies. This achievement has helped me prepare for college and my future career.
How are you spending your summer?
This summer, I'm taking time to get organized for college and learn more about education on my own. I'm also enjoying time with family and friends, and getting ready to start this new chapter with a fresh mindset.
What are you most looking forward to this fall?
I'm excited to start my classes, meet new classmates and professors, and begin practical experiences that will prepare me for a career in teaching. I'm also looking forward to getting involved in campus activities and building lasting friendships.

My dream job is to become a teacher. I want to inspire and support children as they learn and grow, helping them develop confidence and a love for learning that will benefit them throughout their lives.

I am spending my summer working at Kohls and spending time with family and friends. I'm also vacationing at Hilton Head Island.

I chose ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½Chillicothe because it offers a supportive environment with smaller class sizes, which I felt would help me succeed as I start this next chapter. It also allows me to stay close to home while working toward my academic and career goals.
What accomplishments are you most proud of from the past year?
I’m really proud of earning a few scholarships that will help me start college on the right foot. I’m also really proud of the work I put into my College Credit Plus classes. They pushed me to stay focused and gave me a head start on my education, which makes me feel more confident going into this next chapter.
How are you spending your summer?
I’ve been working at a bank, which has been a great experience learning new skills and responsibility. When I’m not working, I like to relax and spend time with family and friends!
What are you most looking forward to this fall?
I’m most excited about meeting new people, getting involved on campus, and starting to work toward my goals. It feels like a new chapter, and I can’t wait to see what’s ahead.
What's your dream job?
I’m still unsure what type of nurse I want to be, but my dream is to work anywhere in healthcare because I love helping people and making a positive impact on their lives. I’m excited to explore different options and find the best way to use my skills to care for others.

What accomplishments are you most proud of from the past year?
I am proud of passing my senior year. It was hard and I wanted to give up so many times but my step-mom and dad helped me push through!
How are you spending your summer?
I’m spending most of my time with my family because I know that with college starting I won’t be able to spend a lot of time with them.
What are you most looking forward to this fall?
I’m looking forward to making new friends and the football games!

Journalist for a news channel or a chef (because I love to cook).

Why did you choose ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½Chillicothe?
I have been interested in the nursing program for a while, and after speaking with others and doing some research, ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½Chillicothe seems to be one of the best nursing programs in Ohio. It’s within a convenient travel time for me as well. My grandma has also taught at the university.
What accomplishments are you most proud of from the past year?
I’m the past year, I have learned more about myself, what my interests are, and decided what I want to do with my career path.
How are you spending your summer?
This summer, I am spending time with my family. I will soon be going on maternity leave to have my son. I will be spending as much time with my two kids before I start my college journey into nursing, just one month postpartum.
What are you most looking forward to this fall?
This fall I am looking forward to learning more about the career I chose. I look forward to the new chapter in life that I am about to walk into!

My dream job is to become a labor and delivery nurse!

Why did you choose ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½Chillicothe?
I wanted to stay close to home and focus on my education and my career.
What accomplishments are you most proud of from the past year?
I was the Salutatorian of my class, Student Council Vice President, Co-Editor of my school’s newspaper and yearbook, and in the National Honor Society. I graduated with a 4.0 GPA and a 99.5% average score through all of high school. I also got my first job, my first car, and my license.
How are you spending your summer?
I’ve gone on a family beach vacation and I have another small vacation planned. I’ve been hanging out with friends, family, and church family and have also been volunteering when needed at my church’s food pantry. I’m also using this summer to work on some art projects, some of my personal story ideas, and redecorating my room to really make it my own.
What are you most looking forward to this fall?
I’m excited for college and the opportunity to meet new people and make new friends. I’m ready for change.
What’s your dream job?
My dream job is to be a storyteller, whether that means being an author, illustrator, animator, etc.

I have taken College Credit Plus classes here and the atmosphere is great. This also gave me a chance to continue my education but also stay home with my family!

Graduating, getting into this program, and all of the opportunities to learn more about the medical field!
How are you spending your summer?
I am working and spending time with my family and boyfriend. I am also getting experience on what the nursing field looks like!
What are you most looking forward to this fall?
I’m looking forward to starting my journey towards becoming a nurse, I’m very passionate about helping people and am excited to get started on the route there.
What’s your dream job?
My dream job is to become a pediatric nurse, I love kids, have worked with them since I started working and have always wanted to help them in the best way I can.

Why did you choose ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½Chillicothe?
I've only heard positive things about ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½Chillicothe. My kids and I spend a lot of time in Chillicothe at the gym, local restaurants, and Yoctangee Park.
What accomplishments are you most proud of from the past year?
I've written three grant proposals at work. I'm eager to see if I get them in August.
How are you spending your summer?
So far, I've been to King's Island, Long's Retreat, and the Grand Ole Opry during a work trip to Nashville. I plan to spend my summer doing more of these types of things.
What are you most looking forward to this fall
I'm anxious but excited to get back into school and further my education.

I'd like to work in Website Development, Cyber Security, or AI.

Why did you choose ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½Chillicothe?
I chose Ohio Chillicothe because it’s close to home and my aunt was a Bobcat so I felt it was fitting.
What accomplishments are you most proud of from the past year?
In the past year I have created a new tobacco prevention program at the Pickaway County Health Department featuring a tool called the Vape Aid Kit which I created to help individuals stop nicotine tobacco and cannabis use. These are now in all four county schools and Pickaway County!
How are you spending your summer?
I’m spending my summer hanging out with friends before they leave for college and working.

I attended Vinton County High School, along with doing CCP classes that allowed me to graduate with my associate degree at the same time I was graduating high school!
